Chanukah Night #8 - Hilary

Hilary was NOT patient at all.  She was griping about drawing day 8 from the get go.  Even when I pointed out how patient Ada had been, she didn't care.  She got a couple of t-shirts, some iTunes money, a necklace, a book (Tokyo Vice)... and I can't remember anything else.  She was happy.  :-)

Chanukah Night #7 - Ada

Ada was soooo patient.  I was really impressed.  But as Thursday morning started, her excitement was building.  After dinner, we started to light the lights and she actually bailed because she was afraid of the lights and seven candles will do that to you!

 

Plastic dishes, crocheted fruit, crocheted candies, a Little Pet Shop - she was thrilled.  Oh and a t-shirt that was shiny.  Everyone played all night, but first they had to change into ballet outfits.

Chanukah Night #6 - Owen

I think that this photo says it all - she loves her new hat!  We had to beg her not to sleep in it.  She also got a Momiji doll, watch, crocheted cupcake purse, a pet shop, a polka dot bathrobe and the AG dog, Honey.

Chanukah Night #5 - Benjamin

Benjamin had a great night, particularly leading the dreidel game.  He got Risk, paper airplanes, Weird Kentucky (book), and a Yo Yo set.

Chanukah Night #4 - Clara

Clara waited mostly patiently, until today.  Today, every other thing was about when we were going to light candles?  She got Trouble, Rat a Tat Cat, Kanoodles, AG t-shirt for doll,  AG cat Ginger, a LPS with sushi and a watch.

She and Owen went to the closet to see if her watch glowed.  She didn't know she had to push a button. She came out and told me it was broken.  She and Isaac had fun playing Trouble.  Lilah and I were busy making a huge menorah for her class project on culture.  Kevin was taking a shower.  Ada was running from Noa.  Hilary and Benjamin were arguing over a video game something or other.

And in others news, as you can see below, our dripless candles - not so dripless.

Chanukah Night #3 - Noa

It was such a wild day!  But Kevin made latkes and we really enjoyed them.  He also made his famous rugelach over the weekend.  We did not let Noa light candles, so Kevin did the honors.

We didn't even wrap her presents, mainly because wrapping paper and a clueless child draws siblings like flies.  So we just handed her her presents.  She loved the xylophone, which we knew she would.  She was not as thrilled with the doll we got her, which really surprised me.  She also got a book and a wooden sushi set (which I realized was a bit old, so it will make a reprise as a birthday present!).

Chanukah Night #2 - Lilah

Lilah was originally scheduled for night 3, but we chose to move her because Owen and Clara had their birthday party on 12/13.  We figured a non compete thing might be great, so Noa got bumped.

She got a shirt, a shirt for her American Girl Doll, a box collection of Dahl books (which she's been reading furiously!), a Momiji Doll (figurine) and a watch.  She seemed to really enjoy her night of Chanukah.  She liked being able to pick out the candles but lamented that the last nights of Chanukah would be fun because of more candles.

Chanukah Night #1 - Isaac

Isaac went first, no photos as it was Shabbat.  He wasn't expecting anything because he had a very nice combo present for his birthday, a Flip camera.  He got a couple of books including the new Alcatraz book, Omnivore's Dilemma for kids, and a physics book.  He also got a mini-tripod for his camera and a case for it.

He was thrilled!
