I have to admit that I'm enjoying the new fangled camps for kids. I love having photos to look at on a daily basis. It's like checking in without hovering. Not to say I don't look at pics and think, "Why is he wearing long pants in 100 degree weather?" But hey, it's in the past and I can prove he was breathing yesterday. ;-)
So on that note, Lilah is home form camp. She had a blast. I was worried she'd stay shy but I picked her up and she was smiling, chatting and playing well. I am so glad. She wants to go back THIS summer.
In exchange, we dropped Isaac off. His first pictures have been viewed. We'll see him in awhile. (See what I mean about the long pants?)
Well today was Isaac's big day - he's off to camp again for nearly a month. We started the morning off with our usual Bob Evans meal.
Then we waited at the parking lot for an hour. Hilary took the girls to the play ground which was a blessing, but Ada was frightened by the sound of lawnmowers and sat on the bench a lot - how sad. After putting Isaac on the bus, Kevin came over to say good bye. I thought you'd get a kick of this one.
And just some pics because I can...
Isaac: Mom, when you were pregnant, did the supersonic tell you if I was a girl or a boy?
Me: *snort* You mean the ULTRASOUND?
Isaac: Yeah.
Me: Yes, it told me if you were a girl or a boy. *laugh*
Tonight was Isaac's night. He had been so patient. Today he called from school asking if he should stay for chess, in case it would interefere with Chanukah. He did all the blessings over the candles without help and was very excited about his presents. Earlier in the day he had said, "I know I'm getting only one present because what I wanted costs a lot of money ($30)." I thought that was really sweet after watching everyone get multiple presents. He got a chess game, a book of string puzzles, Bananagrams (game), and a DS game. Then Kevin and I spent all night looking for his DS which we had put away before. Poor kid was incredibly patient, it tooks us six hours to find it and then we had to say it's bed time...
Lilah and Isaac are busy with their thank you notes. Lilah has been actually drawing a really cute picture of the present in each one. Isaac isn't having as much fun with it. Lilah just announced - "I have one more to do! I'm so lucky..." I looked at her and said, "It's not luck, you've been working hard and being thoughtful."
Isaac and Lilah went to a chess tournament yesterday and both got 3rd place in their divisions. We were really impressed because this was a huge tournament.
Actually it's Lilah and Isaac!
They both won 1st place in their respective divisions at the Chess Tournament. They are both excited and really happy with their trophies.
