Owen & Clara Turn 7!!!

They were so excited to be seven.  They started the day with big hugs in bed and the immediate post birth story of how we held them in that very bed, seven years before.  Then off to MyGym for a bit.  We had lunch at SkyLine where the ladies were waiting with lunch and balloons.  Then we drove to the cupcake shop down the street.  At home we watched a movie.  Then off to dinner at CPK with just Owen, Clara, Kevin and I.

We came home and the other kids shouted "Surprise!"  We served rainbow cake (also a surprise) and sang Happy birthday in multiple languages. 

Since they've made the huge commitment to chess the got their very own chess  sets and they each got a DS and a game to use during chess tournament breaks.

 

Surprised!  They were excited, but in the end - chess won.

Chanukah Night #4 - Clara

Clara waited mostly patiently, until today.  Today, every other thing was about when we were going to light candles?  She got Trouble, Rat a Tat Cat, Kanoodles, AG t-shirt for doll,  AG cat Ginger, a LPS with sushi and a watch.

She and Owen went to the closet to see if her watch glowed.  She didn't know she had to push a button. She came out and told me it was broken.  She and Isaac had fun playing Trouble.  Lilah and I were busy making a huge menorah for her class project on culture.  Kevin was taking a shower.  Ada was running from Noa.  Hilary and Benjamin were arguing over a video game something or other.

Today Owen, Clara and I had a fun morning. We painted a fence picket and the shared lunch! Love my girls.

Halloween 2009

We had a lot of fun last night. The girls enjoyed the themed costumes as did the folks at the nursing home. Then we stopped to see Eve and Doug. Back to our neighborhood.

Isaac walked with us and took some pics. Benjamin and Hilary opted to stay home. Then I did homework.

Another One Bites the Dust

Clara lost another tooth tonight!  She has two on Owen.  This really bothers Kevin who is ready to take Owen to the doctor.  I explained Owen is just gingerly treating her teeth when they are loose versus Clara's desire for cold hard cash.

You know your kid is a geek...

When you're driving down the street and some geese are flying in formation overhead and she says, "Look mom, it's migration!"

Lost

Clara lost her front tooth today. Owen isn't far behind. Here is her photo and her siblings who wanted to pose.

Purpose of a minivan

We were in the van today and the girls were talking about minivans. Clara says, "M. has a minivan and she doesn't even have enough people. She doesn't need one!"

M. has a two kid family. But Owen then reasoned, "She has all of the seats so she can drive her friends around."

Ada & a Joke

Today we celebrated Ada's fourth birthday!  The day got rearranged a bit because of causes out of our control, but we had the inflatable up and the little girls jumped all day.  Lilah and Isaac even had some time in there.  

As is tradition, the birthday girl got to go out to dinner and she picked Red Robin's.  Now on the kid's menus they have jokes.  The joke read:

If a fish gets sick, what vitamin do you give him?

Vitamin Sea

So Owen, tells this joke at the table.  A few minutes later, Clara, tries to tell the joke to Kevin, like this:

Clara: If a fish gets sick, what vitamin do you give him?

Kevin: I know this one, Viatmin Sea.

Clara: No!  IbuproFIN.

Kevin didn't get her joke at first, and then he was really proud of her. 

After dinner we had more jumping, some confetti cake with strawberry icing and fun.  For presents I had been saving up and purchased nearly a whole new dress up wardrobe from Sarah's Silks from my friend Stacie.  I've saved them for months!  And tonight it paid off - boy was Ada surprised.  She quickly striped her clothes off and was changing her clothes to her heart's desire!  The crown even has two colors to choose form - she was thrilled.  

No fighting at bed time tonight - everyone was too, too tired.
