Treat Bags and Batty Boo Sucker Holders

I made a ton of fun stuff today.  Though some is for tomorrow...  Shhh.

So we have the Treat bags.  A simple but effective idea I relearned from Highlowaha.  These were for teachers of Isaac, Owen, Clara, Ada, Noa, and Lilah.  Benjamin is giving them to teachers and students since it's a total of 11 people.

Then we pulled out my favorite thing to make every year.  Simple, cute and the kids can help!  These are simply rubber stamps on a white 3 x 5 card.  We place the stamp in the corner and the kids cut off the excess.  Simple edging and accenting with regular markers for highlights.  I did the hole punching because I could only find a ridiculous punch.  Then insert the suckers!

Another One Bites the Dust

Clara lost another tooth tonight!  She has two on Owen.  This really bothers Kevin who is ready to take Owen to the doctor.  I explained Owen is just gingerly treating her teeth when they are loose versus Clara's desire for cold hard cash.

More Ghoulish Treats

These are ghoul guts. Ada and I turned the Alfredo sauce purple. We also had candy hands in the lunches.

Monster Pizza

Last night we made the monster pizzas from a recipe I found online.  I modified the original recipe to fit my needs.

Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk

My friend Heather is walking in the 3 day breast cancer walk in Dallas.  It's 20 miles a day, port-a-potties and tents - for THREE DAYS.  I was hoping you guys would help her out and donate to the cause!  Every little bit makes a difference:

Noa took her first steps tonight!  I was trying to give her a bath before minyan.  I'd stripped her down to put her in the sink and she started walking away...  Too cute!

We're alive.

Thank you all for the concerns and care.  My MIL passed away this weekend.  It was after about a 10 day stint in Hospice. She was living with my SIL and her family, who took amazing care of her.  She also opened her home to our family and her other sibling's family.  It was great to all be together through a really rough weekend.  It felt very different than the loneliness I felt when Grandma died.

We are sitting shiva until Wednesday.  Every night 7-9 p.m.

Race for the Cure

Hilary and Isaac are doing Race for the Cure this morning. I'm just sitting in the car crying. Grandma got diagnosed and had her mastectomy in October. She was amazed at how many people talked about breast cancer - why it was even on her soup can! She had no idea it was a one month long thing. She just thought she was out of the loop. I'm watching all the people in pink stream by my car. The signs. The t-shirts. The huge tufts of balloons and even some pink hair. I can't help but feel a bit defeated today in my own personal race for a cure.
